Super Troopers

Normally, I'm the guy that doesn't like a movie. We'll go out and and see something, and generally I'll have something negative to say. But I rented Super Troopers the other day and I thought it was funny as hell. Of course, I was stoned, but so were the other people I saw it with and they didn't really like it at all.

I'll admit the comedy is pretty narrowly targetted, but it musta been right up my alley cuz I understood everything they were trying to do.

Anybody else see it? Any thoughts?

 

I rented it this weekend. Some of it was really funny...like the beginning when they were fucking with the kids that were stoned. And I LOVED the "meow" game. It had its moments of funny...but most of it was boring and slow.

 

I haven't finished d/l it yet.

 

I guess I sorta like it when people make a movie that isn't a movie by commitee. It seemed clear to me that these guys made the movie they wanted to make and did things they thought were funny. Some of it didn't work, some of it did, but I like that they tried. So many movies are so formulaic that you can just imagine the executive meetings discussing what was needed to make the movie better.

The first Austin Powers movie was great, but you could see where it was almost experimental in it's humor. Some of it just fell flat on its face. The 2nd was soooo formulized that I don't even care to see the 3rd.

 

I loved it. Its one of the best comedy's I've seen in a while.

Whats amazing is that they made the movie for around $3 million and made over $20 million.

 

OMG!!! This movie was awsome... Very very funny!! I loved everything bout this movie..

 

I just bought the DVD. Fucking hysterical! This is a good one. The beginning was the best.
