I didn't like Jim burning the timeout to avoid the delay. Back up five yards and save the timeout.

As far as Beyonce, I am not a huge fan of hers but it was a pretty good show. I heard she was a real **** in her demands to do the halftime show demanding damn near a $100,000 nursery instead of leaving the kid in the hotel with the nanny but whatever. She sang a good bit of the show but she was lip synching a lot. Watch as she walks around smiling during the performance and her singing is still playing. Most of the recent halftime shows have been that way as they are trying to get as much squeezed in to the show. I was just glad it was music from this decade verses the older stuff they had been going with

I do some work with "celebrities" from time to time, and they're all that way. Their riders are all absurd, some of which is to ensure safety.

If someone orders that they have a bowl full of green and blue m&ms only, and they get a bowl full of all colors, the stadium guys probably aren't reading the riders carefully enough, and therefor, may skip out of important details such as pyrotechnics, or whatever small details that could be profoundly important. (abstract example, but you get my point)

Riders are fucked up to ensure safety primarily. And normally the celebrities don't make them. Agents and support staff do. Beyonce is a professional at the top of her game, and so it's pretty par for the course that she have insane demands.

I didn't give two shits about her show, but she at the very least delivered a bigtime performance. Credit her for that.

That abortion last year wasn't worth even mentioning.

As per Flacco, I believe the Ravens did, and do want him very badly.

I think it's all about leverage, and that's what smart GMs and good FO's do. And that's what happened here. Did they expect a SB and MVP trophy? Probably not, but letting him fight and play his ass off for so he can prove his worth certainly didn't hurt.

Everyone keeps saying backfired. They got a Superbowl win.

No. It didn't backfire. Ozzie is rose cologne, man. They both played leverage games, and they all win. I think personally, and it's just me, that it's absurd to think they didn't want him.

Before this, he was still winning a handful of playoff games too.

I think you're wrong about this one. Some of the time she was smiling and still singing. It appeared that she did everything live, and she kept throwing in extra stuff to make sure that people knew she was doing it live. I think you assumed she would be lip synching and imagined things to confirm your assumption. I don't know anyone besides you who thought that was anything but live.

As noted, franchising Flacco will only cost them $14.5 mil next season, and they could do it again in 2014 for $17.4 mil. Given that he wants more than that annually, there's really no reason to give him a long-term contract until 2015, and by then you'll know if he's really a great quarterback or just a solid one who looks good because of the team around him.
