Discussion in 'Carolina Panthers' started by Y2Buddy, Apr 23, 2002.

Is it ok to have a Super Bowl in the NY or DC areas?

Tagliabue is now saying that NY and DC are possibilities for a Super Bowl in 2007. I guess that opens the door for Charlotte big time. It's not just about patriotism anymore. Snyder says he thinks it's ok to have a SB like the Pats-Raiders playoff game. I don't think so. The rules state that the average temp needs to be above 50 in January. I guess they'll just have to change the rules.

yeah, gives us a shot to have one here also. If we ever get the parking and hotel situation worked out. It may be the closest we'll come to the big game for a while.

There was a huge snowstorm the last time the game was in Atlanta. I don't think it equated to too many empty seats. I say go for it.

I say yes, but not just because of the events of last year. If DC/NY can have one then I think every city should be able to host one. I think that would be good for the game!

Nah it's baloney. Keep the game in the sunbelt. Why waste corporate promotional money on snow. The super bowl isn't about football, It's about drinking yourway there and back and catching a little sun in the middle of winter.

Yea but it was still played in a Dome. People just had a hardtime getting there. It didn't have any affect on the playing conditions.

I'm all for Charlotte getting a SB (even though I'm in Tampa, but I should be in Charlotte by the time they get one) but I don't know if a SB should be played in below freezing conditions and bad weather. Playoffs is one thing, it's all about home field advantage, but a SB should be neutral ground. Even though some teams have advantages on grass or turf, I don't think it should go beyond that. I guess it's just going to be luck of the draw as far as it goes. They've played some games in some pretty bad weather. Who remembers Cincy-Miami in 40 below?
