I wonder if he's too much of an athelete for Fox and Co. to pass on at the number 9 spot. Especially if the QB's/RB's they are targeting are already taken.

if we got him, I'd not be unhappy. At 245, he's a hell of an athlete and gives us a hell of an upfield linebacker like Boulware was for the Ravens. Witherspoon's good, but not so good we can't do better. He could also shift down, especially for passing downs, and have Peppers or Rucker inside.

But we'd really have to spend in FA otherwise. And we'd be spending a lot for an extra rusher when we already had five guys over five sacks and two over ten. Having two athletically nasty rushers and one technically sound and smart, not including Jenkins' power, is brutal.

But as you'd expect it's just not feasible.

Has he actually played any linebacker? Physically, sure. But he'd have to show me in the Senior Bowl that he can play standing up.

well, I was assuming that he'd be playing linebacker, seeing as how we've got two of the better ends in the conference. Taking him certainly wouldn't replace anyone.

Of course. I'm just uneasy about taking, at #9, an undersized end and expecting him to cover and play standing up.

I know Rucker is good and all, but the thought of Peppers on one side and Suggs on the other kinda gives me wood. Maybe we can deal Rucker for a later first rounder.
