It looks as bad as it sounds! Awoke this morning with my eye ball full of blood, look like some kind of freakin monster. I have no idea what caused it.

Looked it up on the net and learned that it is not dangerous, but can't find a treatment. Any suggestions?

See a doctor, make sure your diagnosis is correct. Don't play with the eye.

You forgot to add "Post Pictures for all of us to see"...

Seriously, though... Sounds messed up. I wouldn't mess around.

Fred might have more sound advice, but I never guess about stuff concerning the eye, it's too precious. Or I think mine are anyway :)

people have tiny blood vessels in their eye that break all the time... hard coughing, sneezing, childbirth, high blood pressure... can cause it. Sometimes it happens just for the hell of it. It looks horrible but will eventually go away.

*2 keys points.... it is usually painless and does not change your vision in the eye.

If it starts hurting or your field of vision changes in that eye, get to your eye doctor ASAP. Plu is right- your vision is nothing to take chances on.

As far as treatment, the best thing is to rest your eyes whenever possible and let your body re-absorb the blood in it's own time.

Thanks for the info. Doc said nothing serious, but was one of the worst he had seen. Still can't figure out how it happened.

There's got to be a way to get this thing cleared up rather than just giving it time. Everyone who sees it is really grossed out. But I guess that's their problem, I can't see it!
