Saw these guys last night @ ziggys in W-S. All I can say is DAMN!!! You gotta check these guys out!! Great live show. Cory Taylor is a great musician and showman. I thought when they played "bother" I probably wouldn't like it but it was really powerful... Cory came out with a gutiar and played it solo.. Awsome.. The crowd and the band really enjoyed the show... Stonesour is a great band in a sea of shitty music. After seeing Cory and Jim I wonder how much longer Slipknot will last and when stonesour will become there full time band... If you haven't heard these guys check out:

    Get Inside
    Blotter
    Orchards

great album from start to finish. Even the spoken word at the end of the CD is powerful..

"In the end everything we do is just eveything we've done."

I read somewhere that Stone Sour were Corey Taylor's band BEFORE he joined Slipknot. By coincidence I picked up a sampler CD today (from Kerrang!) with "Blotter" on it. Melodic heaviness. Good stuff!

Yea this was his band before the "machine" of Slipknot. Cory pretty much said he wanted to make Stonesour "the biggest band in the world!!!".. Another member of Slipknot is out with a side band. The Drummer from Slipknot (Joey) was in a band called the Rejects. Joey changed the name to The Murderdolls and picked up a couple of new members like Tripp from Static X and North Carolina's own Wensday 13 from Frankenstien Drag Queens from Plant 13. Murderdolls is another band I am really diging on right now. They pretty much took several FDQ songs and remade 'em and wrote some new ones.. If you like old Manson or just dark humor check these guys out.

The first Murderdolls track I heard was, of course, 'Dead In Hollywood', which I thought was very good but a rip off of Uncle Sam's 'Heaven Or Hollywood'. I played the Uncle Sam song a little earlier to remind myself what it sounded like, and the similarity is there. The only other thing I've heard is '************ I Don't Care', which has great energy, but those lyrics ..... perhaps I'm getting old! They're starting their UK tour next week - I won't be going to see them - and the gigs are selling out.

hehe... no you're not getting old. it is a matter of taste. eminem is a great artiste, but those lyrics... ;)

on another related note: i think the internet is great. this board in particular. i find it very liberating to be able to say the f word, aside from other things! :p

twig: the first time i saw this picture that you posted here of stonesour, i was reminded of the time i saw godsmack at the filmore here in denver. the mood, lighting and the over-all look from where i was standing is pretty close. almost dejavu! this picture brought me back.
