Hiller never got an offer for the Winthrop job. Hudek has had that job locked for years.

BTW he has never had a winning season as a head coach or assistant since he left Oterbin college in OHIO.

 

This was 94. Part of the reason I got to know him so well was because I am from Rock Hill and he was asking me a lot of questions that and my roomate was a baseball player and then catching coach.

 

Hudek has been at Winthrop since 92 and established one of the best programs around especially for the size school.

I played for Hiller from 97-99 so I know him pretty well also.

 

Was David Norman still coaching then?

 

It may have been an asst postition and it could have been anywhere from 90-94 as those were the years I knew him but he was definately interested in Winthrop.

 

I played for Hiller when he left Duke and went to UNCA. The head coach at Duke when he was there and who he replaced was Steve Traylor (who is now at Wofford).

 

Norman was a GA when I left. I remember Traylor too. What an asshole. Walking cliche machine, like most coaches.
