    I've yet to hear one person explain how running into the stands, towards the supposed danger, is defending yourself.

    Well you can kiss any post season dreams away for the Pacers. Losing Oneil for almost half a season, and Artest for the rest will kill this team. Hey but look at the bright side Artest has more time to promote his rap group :huh:

    I applaud Mr. Stern. I don't know that he could make this stick with the union, but this sends a big time message.

    The only one that seems a too harsh is Wallace. Five games for a shove.

    Now just procecute some of those fans.

    Artest is probably loving every minute of it. More publicity for him and all the time he wants to do his rap thing.

    And the Bobcats are playing in Detroit tonight - first game their since the fight.

    Man the Pacers are screwed for the year now. they only had six players dressed for last nights game

    I don't think anybody said it was ok for fans to attack players. Pretty much everybody agrees that the fans involved should be disciplined in some manner also. The players have run this league for WAY too long, and it's beginning to show more and more. Bout time STERN lives up to his name and be STERN! Good job. :applause:

    That SOB is the reason this entire thing happened, which is probably why he is attempting to contact Artest and apologize. Artest did the right thing initially by walking away, his rep is what garnered him such a harsh penalty.

    Sorry man but I disagree. Artest although not a flagrant foul, but was a very hard foul and not really going after the ball with less than a minute and you are killing the other team. There was no reason at all for Artest to do that. Wallace did go to far after that, BUT didn't start it.

    They have been talking for a few weeks now before this happened about the mental health of Artest, and I am sorry but he showed that by going into the stands like he did. I am sorry, yes a plastic cup of beer may be classified as assault, but hardly a reason to go hit people who didn't even do it.

    On a side note, yes security was not prepared to handle this, but I don't know of too many US sports that are setup to handle something like this.
