I agree. He could be in charge of pre-game warmups by gettin' the team fired up by spittin' out words like "ludicrous". ;)

In the Giants game offsetting penalties should have given them another FG attempt.
Nedneys obvious overacting should have cancelled out that second attempt in the Steelers game.
Sherman saying that the ref told him the punt turnover wasn’t reviewable was bullshit and even Madden implied that immediately. Sherman simply blew it by not challenging and tried to cover his ass with a lie. Even that could have been avoided if a few paid officials with monitors headsets and authority were in place for those games.

For all future playoff games (only) a separate jury of QUALIFIED booth officials with TV monitors showing every camera angle need to review all controversial calls. They would be able to review discuss and determine whether the field officials got it right with just about the same speed as anyone watching the damn game on TV.

This is what I don't get. First, people are mad at BCS game because "a penalty" influenced the game. Last week, they were mad because the penalty wasn't thrown. Now they are made cause one was thrown.

If it's a penalty in the first Qtr, then it is on the last play too. I've heard several people say. "yea, it was techinically a penalty, but let em play on the last QTR." A foul is a foul I say. Quit yer bitchin.

Exactly. Make plays and win games. A call or non-call should have no bearing

it was a good call... he hit Nedney... there's no question... even Cowher admitted he hit Nedney, but he tried some crap about it was after the play was dead... but with that timing there was no way...

...as far as over time... the rule should be this...
-coin toss to decide who gets the ball
-first team to score and be AHEAD by 6 points wins
-if neither team is ahead by 6 at the end of the overtime period then then the team that is ahead wins... even if they're only ahead by one...
-if the teams are still tied then it continues to a second overtime
-that then forces at team to try for a touchdown or gives both teams a shot at the ball

only thing I dislike about suddendeath os the opponent doesn't have a chance to match... so if its 2 offensive teams the game is won on a coin toss... I wouldn't care as long as the oppent were allowed the chance to tie or take the lead as well

I was at the game. The Steeler's lost the game with 1:50 left to play. They had the ball at the 40 with four downs to get into field goal range. All they had to do was run Bettis 3 times, leave the clock with 2 seconds and TRY a field goal. Pittsburgh lost due to POOR clock management and coaching. Cower will have to live with it. He gave Tennessee the game!

Nedney missed that field goal badly. Washington simply touched his out stretched foot. He did not hit Nedney or run into him. Nedney felt the slightest contact and flopped. It was a farce. I agree that the Steelers had several chances to win in regulation but it was still a travesty that a game that good ended that badly.
