Static IP address

    Hope this helps

    Basically, you need a Static IP address to host a web site. Just for home use, surfing the net, a Dynamic IP would serve you just fine.

    most cable provided IPs like RoadRunner are dynamic in theory but it's not often you'll find one change if you stay on. More often than not, if you keep your computer on most of the day you'll likely re-acquire the same IP again.

    Yes. Most systems aren't configured to randomly assign once the lease expires. Too much management.
