Ok. After a night to reflect I have a question-

Which program is in bigger trouble? UNC or State? At first, the answer is probably UNC... but look deeper. UNC can't get any worse. They're probably gonna fire Bunting at the end of the year unless they pull some more games outta their ass. So after this year, there's only room for improvement.

NC State on the other hand has bought into the hype machine of Chuck Amato. People love his enthusiam and spotlight he has brought to NC State. But that's all he's done. He hasn't finished above 4th in the ACC. He's had arguably the best talent in the league and still gets out coached on a regular basis. When Rivers was here, Chuck could hide behind on of the greatest QBs in ACC history. Now he is getting exposed. I like Chuck, but he's got some work to do.

When I watch our team all I see is thugs talking shit and getting unsportmanlike penalties. We also are very undisciplined. What I'm getting at is who cares if we get all this talent if we can't use it properly.

    --

As we all know I wanted Herb fired regardless of what happened last season. I was wrong. Herb is way further along than Chuck. I can't believe I said that. Let me repeat- Herb is way further along than Chuck. He gets the most out of his players while Chuck is constantly choking. Maybe his new name should be Choke Amato.

Oh yeah one last thing- Nole Mazzone should be shot in the head. He has failed us numerous times and I am fucking sick and tired of watching us shot ourselves in the foot w/ fucked up formations. Get him out.

Thats all. My ritalin is wearing off.

well without a doubt the UNC program is in bigger trouble. They are in a bad situation now with fans screaming for Bunting's head, many can't decide whether to be happy we beat State or pissed because it may be saving Bunting's job.

Everybody's happy now but it will only take a 42-10 butt whupping at Utah next week with Miami and VA Tech next up to have the fans committing suicide again.

Firing Bunting mid season or even after the season will killl recruiting the rest of this year. Can UNC bring in either a high profile coach or find the right up and comer to get the fans, recruits and team moving in the right direction? With BAD ODOR as AD I doubt it. UNC will eventually get it turned around, maybe Bunting can even do it but it will take awhile.

As for State and Amato, it all reminds me of Mack Brown at UNC. He recruited well, got new facilities built and talked a good game but for all his success he never could win the big one. But at least his teams were finishing second in the league and in the Top Ten which is better than Amato is doing.

BUT... before you run the man out of town you should appreciate what you have, understand that right now may be as good as State can ever be. Winning 8,9 sometimes 10 games a season, go to decent bowls and always be competitive.

Run Amato out of town and who ya gonna get? Do it and you'll find yourself right where UNC is now - sucking wind and wishing for the good ol days of Mack Brown losing the big games but at least getting us there.

I can't argue with most of that. I think is Chuck is learning some things about being a head coach. Somewhere, somehow, Chuck is going to have to make a statement to the State players about penalties and turnovers. Bench some folks, don't let folks travel to away games. I think that's where the 'coaching' is lacking. I can't really complain about the OC and DC at this point.

And yeah, now that Herb is actually letting everyone get to know him a little more, I understand what he's trying to do, and it will make (I hope) some of the low points of the upcoming season tolerable.

Not sure I agree with that. Personally, I think it hurts worse when you have loads of promise and never deliver because you get your hopes up, whether you should or not. With Bunting, I have had zero expectations for years now, and Bunting has delivered just that, so emotionally, it doesn't bother me. With Mack Brown, I kept getting my hopes up, ala State fans now, and kept getting pissed of that we couldn't close the deal against felony state.

UNC's situation is alot worse. Our expectation is to win at least 3 games going into this season. To be UNC, that's terrible.

I think State fans need to calm the hell down. Its "Bob's" (Bob from Fight Club with the bitch tits) first year without PR. Hes feeling his way around and trying to get settled in. His defense just a couple weeks ago was ranked #1 in the country. He has a great back, 3 great WR's, and his class comming in next year is amazing. I'd take that promise over what UNC has now and what our future holds. Because, we have no clue what next year brings us. At least State fans have stability and some kind of idea.

On Herb Sendek. He's recruiting GREAT this offseason, probably his best class EVER. So, he'll be ok again this year.

State fans are probably the weirdest fans Ive ever seen. Herb sucks for a year or two, or few a couple games, and they want his head. "he sucks, blah blah blah" and then he goes on to get to the ACC Title game. Now its the same with with Chuck, aka Bobby Bowden Jr. This guy is good. If yall want to trade, I'd be willing to give up Bunting for Chucky.
