Possible, but hard to not take an everyday player.

If you're going to pick a pitcher, I'd take a younger one...but there's no one out there I'd want right now, with maybe the exception of Zito. Most of the young pitchers in the game right now were babied through the minor leagues and now don't know how to throw more than 75-80 pitches in a start. It's hard to build a team around an every-fifth day guy anyway, even harder to build around a 4 2/3 IP every fifth day guy.

The other young pitcher that maybe could be considered is Mark Prior...but I've been doing some research on him for another project...here's a list of historical guys he compares to:

Hall of Famers Nolan Ryan, Robin Roberts, and future Hall of Famer Roger Clemens

But also Leo Fiely, Kevin Appier, Pete Redfern, Johnny Kucks and Ramon Martinez...none of which are probably headed to a Cooperstown near you.

Unless of course, that Cooperstown is Cooperstown CA, IL, KY, NJ, ND, PA or WI.
