No Star Wars was written as one big story originally. Admittedly it has been edited, but in general the basic plotline of all 6 episodes was created before the original Star Wars.

That's not exactly true. It never says Vader knows Leia is his daughter. It only says they Vader knows Luke has a twin sister. He senses that in the battle, and maybe its possible he knows its Leia, but never states it.

    Here's a stinker for you:

In ESB, As Luke is leaving Dagobah, Obi Wan's ghost tells Yoda "That boy is our last hope", to which Yoda responds, "No, there is another" [Leia]

Obi Wan watched both of them being born, but he forgot Luke had a twin sister?

Also, someone asked a really good question somewhere - why don't the jedi just [using the force] turn off an opponent's lightsaber when they are fighting? It wouldnt be that hard, especially during the stare downs or lock ups. Cant be any harder than force throwing big objects at an opponent while fighting.

That would have been a cool way for Obi Wan to take Anakin down.

I kinda thought about that one too, but I ended up brushing it off as Obi Wan saying that because he'd never really considered Leia as a Jedi, not that he didn't know she existed.

really? i guess the idea of a child queen just seems so ludicrous that i must have assumed it was a royalty thing. i mean, an elected queen? seems like an oxymoron to me.

The original plotlines and scripts (dating back to 1974) are all over the internet for anyone that wants them. I'm pretty sure that I saw several of them at the RottenTomatoes forums, and I'd have to guess that they're all over TheForce.net, but I've not visted there in about 5 years.

Years ago, I read the history of the SW galaxy that they had on that site. It was compiled from just about every source. (I was bored at work). I cant remember much of it, but it was ridiculously detailed, very cool if you're into that stuff, and took hours to read. There's a bunch about the Sith from the early days. I think they used to be one race from a particular planet, and then the name somehow got co-opted by followers of their beliefs.

That should be enough to earn back my geek card, right?
