I think it's probably an either/or game for Haye and McClover, just because of the numbers. I can't see us keeping 5 DE, especially since Lewis can fill in there as well.

maybe so. One could as well suggest that since they've used Wallace there, and could use Haye there, it could go the other way. Honestly, Haye really played well the last couple games of preseason, and I don't believe we should simply concede him as lost.

He isn't lost if he beats out McClover, but it's almost impossible to imagine a scenario where those two and Wallace are kept around. I'd rather have McClover than Haye, and worry a bit that they'll cut McClover with the idea that they can stash him on the practice squad (my worry being that someone else will take him), but if Haye is the better player than he will deserve to stay. Simply put, the roster is already going to be squeezed with 8 DL (and that's assuming Moorehead doesn't make the cut), so keeping 5 DEs is pretty unrealistic.

we've pretty much always kept 9 DL and 9 DBs. It might be more well suited to keep 5 DTs than DEs, but I'd almost guarantee we're keeping 9.

Sure, but the durability questions have been at DT in recent history. I agree we're much more likely to keep 5 DTs.
