......this weekend against thet Knights. Former 49er Jason Stanford (8-2) is sceduled to start Thursday 7/3 in Buffalo, which means his next start will be Tuesday 7/8 in Durham. So all four games in Charlotte vs. the Knights, he should not pitch. I will keep this updated as I am made aware, but it doesn't look good for getting to see him play.

It looks Jason's next start is expected to be Sunday in the god awful place called to Metrodome.

"Jason Stanford is expected to be called up by the Indians from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday. He would then start Sunday's game against Minnesota. He'll take the spot of recently demoted Ricardo Rodriguez in the rotation.
    (Updated 07/05/2003). "

Just watched the 1st 2 innings of Stanford's debut.

all in all not a bad start...considering the announcers (Minnesota Twins broadcast) did mention several times that Stanford didn't really think he'd in the show after 4 years in the minors.

Seemed to have some trouble finding the lower part of the strike zone. According to speed numbers on the screen of the Twins broadcast, a lot of mid-upper 80's pitches.....did hit 91-92 a couple of times.

1st inning were 3 fly ball outs. Gave up a hit, walk, 1 run & got a strikeout in the 2nd (batter swung @ ball 4 in the dirt). Took until facing his 7th batter until he finally got a ground ball.

For the record, YES our school was mentioned.........."Stanford was signed as an undrafted free agent in 1999 from University of North Carolina Charlotte".
