If waived and claimed we assume the old contract. There's nothing that prevents us from offing him another contract once we claim him.

Picking up Duce would be great. I think he is a legitamate starter. Hopefully his injuries won't be too much. Right now we're going with an empty backfield, so I think we should be all over Duce and still draft a RB.

Pick him up. Hard runner and great pass catcher. Perfect compliment to Huntley depending on our game plan. Could be a third downer or a starter.

  4. MvM, what do you think of Michael Pittman? Too many off the field issues? He seems to be a very hard runner, decent speed, and doesn't get injured.

Pittman seems like an interesting project. To be honest I'd take a chance on him. I'd use his past to make sure that he signs a deal laden with incentives and no-fuckup clauses so he has no reason whatsoever to look bad, which would probably keep him from wanting to sign anyway.

And Pittmans hobbie...body building! He and David Boston started working out with body builders for trainers last off season. Dudes got some HUGE pythons!
He'd be worth a look, but his attitude change could be as simple as a change of address?

    Question for anybody:

So what are we doing either through the draft or trade to improve our WR position? Or are we just banking on the fact they will be as productive as they were last year?

I don't see us doing anything through a trade. But I'm sure we'll do something in terms of FA or a pick. Wide reciever would make a good mid-round to late round selection, considering this year's class.

I'm sure Smith will see more action in the slot, a third guy. Jeffers and Byrd will battle for #2. Jeffers did show more burst toward the end of the year, and the knee never really swelled up, so that's encouraging. And then comes Mr. X, probably a developmental guy, but you never can tell. He won't be a high pick, when we need 4 defensive starters to look for (DE, 2 OLBs, CB). Some of those will be FA, but at least two will probably come from our first day picks, perhaps more.

Moose, like it or not, won't be traded IMO. He'll remain our #1 guy.

See, I can answer a question without being a smartass. It's just not nearly as much fun.

Thanks, I can live with Moose more than Hayes, I've lost hope in him. And really, I don't mind the smartass stuff... there is just a fine line between the wine and the cheese... ;)

One thing I am against is both Walls and Moose being here, those guys pissed me off last year and together, I think they can be what happens when SandMan and MvM get together in a negative way - nobody benefits.

    Thanks for the straight answer...

    WR's?

I like Pittman. As bad as the Cardnals were, Pittman was still a decent FF starter.

WR's? I would like to see us look at after Donald Driver of the Packers. He's a RFA and would cost us a 7th but he could be worth it. I think our needs at WR though are small in comparison to our needs at DE, RB, LB, and CB. Atleast we have viable starters at WR, we don't even have a RB.
