I may very well be the only one here who thinks Duce Staley can be a hard running back behind a good line. He'll be cut this week, most likely, and would definately keep us from needing to go offense at all first day.

His asking price would likely make it unlikely. Plus, there could be a bidding war for him if enough teams feel his injury issues are in the past.

I'm all for getting Duce here and anyone that thinks otherwise is on crack. Injuries can be a bitch, but when he's injured, he's one of the top 7 or 8 in the league.

Bring him. Use a pick on something else.

I like him and think he was/still can be a good back but his injuries have been many in the past few years and what you just said we used to always say about Tim B. If he's completely healed and he doesn't want a shitload I could go for it.

I don't question Staley's talent, but he does have injury issues. Just makes me think of alot of other guys we've thrown bank at and got little to no return on the investment.
I'd say bring him in at the right price and give him part of his pay in incentive bonus.

yeah, he'll be out of our league I guess, but just as a fit I think he works. I've heard too much about him being unable to grind it out and that just doesn't make any damn sense.

His salary is 1.8 mil, if they waive him claim him.

that's an idea. Is he young enough to be waived?

I guess so. Can't get into a bidding war over a guy who's awarded to you by the league.

So what would it take to sign him if he is waived, 1.8?
If that is the case, I'd decline. But if we could write a new contract, I'd do it. The latter would be the case, correct?
