How could he not... he has at least a 1/2 second before he gets hit by a D-Lineman

  2. I think both teams made the right picks.

In henning's offense, you don't need a Harrington, you just need someone who knows the offense and doesn't make mistakes. The superbowl winners for Henning in WA were Rypien and Doug Williams, right? You could throw Dilfer in that category too because the offense is similar.....Neil O'Donnel got the steelers there in another similar offense. What was needed was defense and Peppers was without a doubt the best defensive player in the draft. There was no point to draft Harrington at number 2 and pay him all that money to hand off and throw screen passes.

Those guys are hardly the caliber of QB that is needed to win the SB with the WCO (Young, Montana, Farve, etc). Look how Dilfer is struggling with it in Seattle.

Harrington is just in the right system for his skills.

    Without a doubt.

Shame on M&M for even considering Jammer over Harrington.

Snoil what you're saying makes me thing that Foster and a stud receiver will open our offense right the fuck up.

    Thanks for reminding me.

In the meatime, I hope our defense can score.

  5. that's exactly what is needed, IMO. A fast as hell receiver for the "over the top" plays that attack Ds that are geered towards stopping the run. I'd love for Charles Rogers to fall....

Another problem is TE, Walls is a shadow of his former self. I think it is time to cut him lose after this season. His backup drops too many passes. A fast TE against a D geered to stop the run is huge...remember what Sharpe did for the Ravens...

Yep. Thing is, Walls looked great week one. Hell he looked good until he snapped his finger in 2.

I'm for keeping Walls if healthy, dumping Mangum and drafting a stud TE if there is one. But I'd rather draft 2 WR. Moose, Stud Pick, Smith, Byrd/Draft Pick. That's a nice fucking lineup. And I'd draft 2 WR in a row. Hell, I'd trade up in round 2 with that extra fourth.

All this, of course, will be determined by whether or not Weinke sucks.

call me biased, being raised a unc fan but i was so happy we got peppers. his athletic skills are unbelievable for the position he plays. i remember around draft time looking at unc's guys going into the draft and thier 40 times......peppers had a better forty time the ronald curry did and he was a "scrambling" qb. i think its around 4.40 or so. here's to hoping he keeps doing what he has done all year......improving. a couple years and he is going to be scary. as for walls, i agree his hand probably isn't helping him in the passing game this year......that said i also agree to what someone said on another thread about him not being the type to help out the young guys and pass on the wisdom, i don't know if thats true but his dimeanor looks as though its the case.

I don't think we'll dump Mangum. He's going to end up being our only "vet" when Walls is gone after the year. Heinrich will get no time thanks to his injury, and Crawford got dumped because he wasn't one of Fox' guys just when he was getting ready to contribute.

WR first, certainly. I think we'll be able to get one of the top five. If Witten is there first round, I think that's a viable option, but otherwise I'd put TE as a midround pick. He's a weapon with size and speed that has already gotten comfortable in motion.

Two receivers? I'm down with you there.

Two in succession? Nah. If four or five go first round the second will have reaches and projects. I'd like to go with 4th round level guy there who can return kicks as well. I can't see drafting a player in the second round that might be starting in three years. But a fourth for a situational player and return contributor is reasonable. Rashaun Woods, Talman Gardner, or converting a guy like Seneca Wallace would work.

So if we're listing by need (and damned if it's possible to do it any other way right now) I'd have to put WR and TE in the 4th after the first pick.
