wonder what she said to him?

He told her to "suck my dick/cock"

one game suspension sounds about right.

Otherwise I don't see what's the big deal.

It is not just this one thing it is his whole career. He is the poster boy for atheletes who do not appreciate anything they have. That comment about having kids to feed was just stupid. The man is gonna make fourteen million dollars this year alone. He has choked coaches and had run ins with the law. To me he symolizes a lot of what is wrong with the NBA.

Reilly had a good article about him in SI recently called 'Getting By on 14 mil". Mentions that his pit bull attacked his 4 year old and bit off her ear. He didnt want to put the dog down, saying "Stuff Happens".

I am not naive enough to think that atheletes are good moral people who do not do things I would consider bad (or that they ever were) but I do think there needs to be some standard for these guys. Most jobs have some standards. The girl he said that to was basically a customer. How many of you could say something like that to a customer while on the job and not get fired? I do not expect these guys to be role models for my kids or anything but a little bit of professionalism is not asking too much.

Personally I think the both the NBA and NHL (even though I like hockey) should be shut down. The NBA is about greed and goons and the NHL cannot support itself, like so many soccer leagues. If MLB doesn't get straightened out, they can shut it down too. I've always like baseball but after the player strike a few years ago and now the 'roid issue, I would rather watch t-ball with kids that play for fun and not the b'zillions that it's going to get them.

I have never been a baseball fan but I like to go watch the local minor league team. I like college basketball a whole lot more than the NBA. The only pro sport I really get into is the NFL.

It will take several years but I can see the NBA and MLB losing fans and eventually folding if they do not change some of the negatives stuff they have going on.

You know even the college game is getting to be kind of bad too....I mean the kids do what they see the pros do, basketball/football and with so many of the guys leaving early for the pros and the $$$ and not getting educated, it just makes it worse. I like minor league baseball because those guys are trying to get somewhere, with colleges I watch more womens basketball mainly because my daughter plays hs ball and is being recurited. I guess I like the amateur game because it is for the fun/competition but even at the high school level they do what they see. Some of the hs football games I saw this year had kids standing over others they "tackled" like and NFL player would do and the refs stand there and look at them and the coaches praise them. So where does it end?

You have a point. I watch mostly Duke basketball and they generally do not do that sort of stuff. I am sure there are lots of colleges where they do have problems like that.

There are many professions with a code of conduct. You can behave like a criminal and keep your job in a lot of fields. Professional atheletes make a lot of money and should be held to a higher standard of just like doctors, lawyers and other professionals.
