Maybe someone in the front office was misinformed when they were putting together our special teams. Maybe, they were thinking it meant "Special" as in Olympics?

Putting a bunch of linemen on the field along with two kickers to cover a punt is a bad idea?

Watching Kemo "running" down the field chasing the punt returner was classic.

the coaches should get a break for this too considering Jake Delhomme isn't playing

Disturber blog suggests that the panthers only had 10 men on the field during that play.

Just got done watching the replay of the infamous pooch punt about a dozen times with a reporter from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. We’ve also had people at WCNC check their video feed numerous times. Unless the Panthers had someone line up way outside (and never come into the screen), it appears they had only 10 men on the field on the play. Again, that’s what the replay indicates. The Panthers are on a flight back to Charlotte tonight and coach John Fox will be asked Monday to clarify what happened on the play.

Jake could have singlehandedly punted, blocked for himself, and downed the punt inside the 5.

We would never need to punt or kick field goals if Jake were here. He would score a TD on every drive. AND! kill the english with lightening bolts from his arse.

I seriuosly doubt that having one more person on the field was going to prevent that punt return. :sadbanana:
