Sox-Yanks Game 7

I'll fess up. He should of yanked pedro. But the comments by VP are insane and ridiculous. The guy is considered a baseball genius by everyone in the industry. Bobby Cox will tell you that too. The reason he is even in Boston was because the players begged for him there out of respect from when he coached before in Boston as a bench coach.

bottom line, the Red Sox overachieved this year thanks to Grady, be glad they got this far. They have no speed, mediocre bullpen, and did alot with smoke and mirrors.

 

they are a bunch of overachievers. most of those players are cast offs that have been cut: walker, mueller, millar (not drafted). If you think they had more talent than the Yanks, you're high. Yes Pedro should of been yanked, but hindsight is 20-20. You can pinpoint your 5 games all you want, but he won another 20 you are forgetting about with his coaching. You have no idea.

 

Yes, my comments were inssane and ridiculous. That is the way that they were meant to be, so that no one could remotely take them seriously. It's called parody and using humor as a defense mechanism.

And I know that everyone loved Grady as a bench coach and that they considered him a guy with great potential, but let's face it, he hasn't cut it.

You think that the Sox OVERACHIEVED???????? They set the record for freaking slugging % - OVER THE 1927 YANKEES FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. and only won only 95 games.

Now part of that can be attributed to the bullpen, but I think that Little mismanged them for most of the year. I mean, he could not have fucked with Kim's mind anymore if his goal had actually been to ruin his confidence. He would put him in situations where he had a good chance of failing, then yank him quickly once he did fail. Also, he very rarely had a rhyme or reason with his pitching changes - a quick hook one game and a slow one the next. His guys didn't know what to expect.

no, you didnt know what to expect. Don't forget that the pitching coach tells the manager when a guy is done and they changed halfway in the season. That is a big deal.

hell yeah they overachieved. they have no speed, and almost their entire starting lineup are guys that have been cut! they are old as hell too. this team had the physical talent of a 500 team, maybe, but managed to play well this year in part to Grady. Be thankful he got you this far. Kevin Kennedy would of made you 60-102 with the same team.

 

So Grady Little's unbelievable management skills got them to set the all time record for slugging % - how'd that work. And you keep saying that it's hindsight that Grady didn't pull Pedro. That's crap. Every person watching that game could see that Pedro was done during the game. I know I wasn't the only person screaming at my TV.

Edit - you are exactly right about the pitching coach (and I think Cloninger is doing well - which is cool) but they were struggling before he had to leave too.

As a huge Cubs fan, boy can I identify with the BoSox fan's pain. Although, I'd have to say that its bad enough losing in the way they did (mismanagement) but to lose to the hated rivals, that really sucks!

I'm not into any curse or anything, but dang if the BoSox and the Cubs always find a way to lose key games.

 

You know what, you are such a hypocrite it can only make me laugh. You have no problem blasting away at anyone and everyone that you don't like (Joe Morgan, Doherty, UNC, people who don't agree with you politically, etc.) and calling them idiots and morons, etc. But when someone does it to someone YOU know then you can't take it and start whining. And as for Little's future, I do think he should not be brought back, but that is all Epstein's decision.

the only one who needs a tampon is you crying in your beer over last night. I blast people, sure. But I assure you if you knew someone on a personal basis and a poster was saying lets kill him, fucking idiot, etc........you would defend him too. I haven't whined at all. I do know that I know more about baseball than you will ever know and Grady is considered in the industry a genius. I hope he does leave Boston because all the classless assholes like you don't deserve him. I can't wait to see him running a different team next year.
