    Well, I have a friend that manages a rentway store and he tells me that most people that come to his store do it because it is a necessary evil. 2 things:

    (1) They don't have the income to buy it outright and it is a necessity at the moment.
    (2) Credit issues

    His biggest clients are normally college students and people who have to move into apartments because of relocation or limited assignments.

    There's never a good reason to buy furniture on credit. Maybe if you're in a short term rental apartment it's cool if you have to rent furniture for a coupe of months,but that's not the majority of the customers. You suck it up for as long as it takes to buy something within your means.
