We were Missouri Synod Lutherans (my wife grew up in this church) and they had people in the church that baked a unleavened bread and made the communion wine....and it's not about the content anyway, it is what it represents, the body and blood, a representation.

jwnta is right on with his answer. I've not partaken of the body and cup in a baptist church in quite a while, but I remember those wafers, they were terrible. We methodists get to use real bread! :xyzthumbs

Not meaning to argue, but LCMS believe that the wine and bread are a "bit" more then a representation.
And BOY did you make a change in denomations. But sounds like you really have it together if your letting "the spirit move" you.

You are right on both counts..LCMS sees it as being the actual body and blood as you partake of it and right now the wording escapes me.....and to the other point, we actually left when we both realized (within a week of each other) that the church was "dead" and began a several month search. Finally landed in a non-denomintational, mixed race, black female pastor led church meeting in her home; we were the only all white family; became the second founding family there, grew to about 60 (2 years or so) and then felt the leading to move on.....joined a Adventist (not 7th day) mainly for the comfort and support of the pastor and his wife, then after he moved on we ended up at the current SB. If we relied on our flesh, we would have been out of there months ago, but we are teaching an adult class and have not felt the release yet.

Did not mean to imply that about the LCMS.
