UNC WILL go to a bowl game next year... it may not be a MAJOR bowl... but they will make it.

There's a better chance Bear would drop Babe for another woman than Carolina going to a bowl game next season.

And I think that's pretty darn close to a sure thing.

    keep laughing fellas.

I remmeber the same laughing going on two years ago when UNC went to and WON a bowl game.

I know UNC isn't a football powerhouse, but it just kills me that a team with a serious coach, a great recruiting class and a reputation for putting winning teams on the field gets laughed at.

Everybody acts like NC State is the new God on the block. So can somebody please tell me how many times they have beaten the hapless Heels in the last decade?

wossa, I respectfully disagree with you. The Heels may have gotten a great recruiting class a few weeks ago but few if any of them will play next season. And if they do, they will be mistake prone. It's to be expected. Good if not great programs, do it over several years. It remains to be seen if Mr. Bunting can stay away from the fries at McDonalds and come back with another good crop of players.

What were the exact issues that caused South Carolina to leave the ACC in the early 70's  ? ? No way they leave the SEC now IMHO . . .

If we are going to talk about ACC expansion (go up to 12 teams with 2 divisions, have a football championship game in Charlotte) they need to add . . .

    1) Miami (South Florida market) 2) ECU (probably couldn't put them in the same division with the big 4 schools) and 3) Marshall (opens WV market, plus their football team has done as well as they ever can in the ________ Conference . . Why keep winning 10+ games a year and the best you can do is go to a lower level bowl game  ? ? )

O-R, assuming you can't get Miami out of the BIG EAST, do this . . .

    1) ECU 2) Marshall 3) Cincinnatti (opens up Ohio market to ACC)

O-R, assuming the ACC would still turn their noses up at ECU (which is asinine   . . another NC based team would increase the rivalry level even more) how about . . .

    1) Cincy 2) Memphis (get a foothold in TN) and 3) Miami (or Marshall if Miami still won't leave the ACC)

I know some folks think the obvious choice is 1) Syracuse 2) Boston College & 3) Miami, but there is no way you are going to get all 3 to leave the BIG EAST . . . You might be able to Miami to leave, but not the other 2 . . .
