well, to be fair, Henning is way more aggressive than those guys, although Hackett's offense is somewhat limited by Pennington's arm strength.

And you are apparently assuming that I don't want Moose back. And you would be wrong.

But using your logic, we need to sign Goings to a long tier, big time deal.

Personally, I think that Moose has more flexibility than just about any WR in the league.

That doesn't mean he gets paid the most though.

Wow. Well, I did say that we were 10th in the NFL in 3rd down %, and the basis of my arguement is that we arn't too consertive on 3rd down, but rather the coaches do a good job managing them.

he's occasionally agressive, enough to be impactive and positive but not enough to give us sustained drives. Hackett's O does move the chains, he just makes occasionally horrible decisions.

It took you about 20 minutes to make another post on this thread, thats when your friend bailed you out by looking up those specific examples that you couldn't come up with off the top of your head.

I'd certainly like to see it split in half, so we'd know just how poorly we did before Moose and Goings started getting the ball.

We're just above the Bengals in 3rd down %, and they're sitting home, just like us.

How good would our % be if we didn't give up in certain situations? And it's not just poor field position, I've already given evidence from midfield with 12 or more minutes left in a quarter.

The fact remains that we have lost CLOSE games in which we've given up on one or more drives by making poor decisions with play-calling, ill-timed penalties. I'd say that giving other teams 1st downs by penalty after stopping them on 3rd down is our biggest concern though.

I wasn't at the computer. Try it sometime.

OR better yet, talk about the things people take their time and dig up, so that people who actually do their homework and have some idea of what they're saying aren't just wasting their time.

I gave evidence of more than one from the best part of the field.

Anyway, yes, it'd be great to know the breakdown on that. Damn sure to say that there's a direct correlation between passing statistics and 3rd down %.

We were 3-10 against GB; 6-14 against KC; 4-13 against ATL; 5-12 against Denver, 6-17 against Philly, 5-14 against San Diego, 5-12 against Seattle.

    I dunno, guys.

Mags, your points are all well taken. Henning leaves me pissing and moaning at times.

Rez, I still assert that he is wisely aggresive. Screens would be nice, as they would be compliment to the number of draw plays we run.

I think back to another situation where Henning could have sat on the ball. In was the end of the half against Arizona. We called for a veritcal play, a skinny post to Moose that went for a touchdown. We were out of timeouts, and the clock was under 10 seconds. Pretty ballsy, no matter the opponent.

Henning is not flawless, but he calls a good game.

    Well, nice talk.

Henning will always be a mystery for Panther fans. Bottom line.
