Refuses to play in the outfield last night. The Nats say they will sit him the whole year if he does it again Thursday.

The article also says that he will not be a free agent next year, because he wouldn't get service time for this year.

    Interesting.

I think that they will. There really isn't that much downside for them other than he doesn't play.

He has more trade value as an outfielder and if he does play he is less of a defensive liability as an outfiedler. Right now, if he plays second they have to sit Vidro.

They may trade him, but I don't think that there is any team that would want him as a second baseman.

Most of us would play toilet cleaner for $10 million a year, but I have to say that the Nationals brought this on themselves. He was up front all along that he didn't intend to play any position except 2nd base, so it's not as if he deceived them. They knew his desires and traded for him anyway, so they deserve what they get. For what it's worth, even though he is horrible defensively I still think they're making a mistake because Vidro's almost done, at least in the National League.
