Anyone watch? I thought it was pretty good. There was a lot of symbolism in this one --Tony as the Bear, eggs as a bad omen. I had a feeling Tony B was gonna end up getting clipped by Tony S, but when it happened, it was kind of a shock. When Tony saw the Feds coming over the hill in Johnny Sack's back yard, I thought Tony was busted. Now it looks as though the whole Patrielle family's gone (I do wonder if Phil Leotardo was named in the indictments - pretty sure he would be since he was a capo). All the loose ends were tied up, with only one thing left going into the last season, and that's Ray Curto, the rat who's birthday they celebrated during the show. Good stuff. It's gonna be hard to wait a year-and-a-half for the last season.

See, I thought pretty much the whole season blew ass. Less blood, less boobies, less drug use, less profanity. Boring. I've never been so happy to see Six Feet Under again.

this was a good episode, but it's been too long coming. tony b was the inevitable conclusion. the feds, at first, i thought were phil and co. it's funny, tho, because with the feds coming in and taking down the ny family, the whole issue of tony b vs phil goes right out the window and tony killed his cousin for absolutely no reason. tony doesn't even seem to recognize that when he's talking to his lawyer.

of course, this whole episode was about this:

who's contract will they renew for next season? you knew that buscemi wasn't going to be in a series for too long. so he's done. johnny sacks? phil? this sort of ending lets them drop people if they don't wanna pay them or they don't want to come back. it smacks of driving the storyline based on the finances/contract negotiations, rather than on a more pure story arc.

well I was wanting to see Tony whack somebody in the NY family - whoever the prick is that beat the kid with the crowbar

I was half expecting him to get his ass blown away when he opened that door at the house.

The episode was okay - but the season started out with alot of promise - then they mucked it up right when it was getting good.

I think the writers have reached the bottom of the well. It was good while it lasted, but the series is done for. Since it'll be a year and a half or longer before next season, that will give me time to forget how much this season sucked.

it was interesting to see how all the tension that had been building got released. it all came down to money.

hopefully with the family reconciled, they'll get to the real interesting part next year -- namely the mob. i'm glad meadow has essentially gone the way of the eldest cunningham. that bodes well for action over melodrama.

when does carnivale come back? i've really lost interest in 6' under. it used to be so interesting, then it became a pretty basic soap opera.

his guys were pissed because tony b had brought heat down on them from new york and tony s wasn't dealing with the situation the only way he could (which was to hand over tony b). without the heat coming down on them from ny (can't bring heat if you're in the cooler) the tony b problem would be solved, or at least, put off. heck, his guys might even recognize what a stroke of leadership tony executed by waiting a moment before acting and thus saving his cousin from bad news.

I agree with bkfountain. Even though it didn't need to be done, he bought himself major clout with his crew. They're all back with him now and Chris feels special again. He needed to feel totally alone to be able to get back to what business is all about. He went to Uncle Junior for help and found out that he's just a feeble old man who needs to remember to eat. Silvio made him feel alone by telling him the guys were pissed, and then I think he went to Paulie's house to ask him to do Tony B, but when he saw the painting that he scarfed up, he again realized he had no true friends. Then he looked at the hand and the sword on the painting and realized that's what he's got and it's all about business.

This episode wasn't as spectacular as the last season finale, but it really opened things up for next season. Back to more intense mafia action, and his business may be able to grow for a change with NY in disarray. Gay Vito is a prick. He was ready to revolt. I hope they kill him next.
