Sony cuts PS2 $100

Now I'm reading PS3 is due out in 2002. So should I wait? Should I spend $200 that's out dated in 6 months?

I've tried to find stories on it, and all I can tell is IBM, Toshiba, and Sony are in it together and production going to start in 2004 in the chip. Now with XBox, they are looking to ship in 2002, but can they make it by Christmas? Is that what prompted the price drop? It's a sell off.

 

PS3 ain't coming out for a while, dunno where you heard that. I think it's probably not gonna happen till like '05 or something for us in the States.

The PS2 price cut is in reaction to Microsoft getting a little more competitive by cutting their price.

How exactly can they start production in 2004 yet ship by 2002? Has Sony now perfected time travel?

Anyway, Sony simply has the PS3 on the drawing board. Everyone knows it coming but it wont be out until AT LEAST 2005.

at the end they had peyton manning and matt hasselbeck (old friends) play a football game across the country with headphones so they could razz each other. pretty cool.

 

Yeah, I saw in interview with Jr. before Watkins Glen last year and he said he played the track over and over on his PS2 so he could try and get the hang of it.

 

The story about 2004 was in '01. Now with Xbox, Sony is pushing for '02. Who's everyone?

 

Pretty much everyone is everyone but you. Sony announced that they where working on the PS3, however it was only in developmental stages. Its NO where near ready for production.

Yeah, there's a whole contingent of folks interested in Linux on PS2. I've seen a few different programming API's that are designed to run on it, but I don't know how it all works. Clearly, you'd need a keyboard and mouse and hard drive option...
