My favourite Floyd album is 'Ummagumma'. Says a lot for the state of my brain, eh!

Can't say I have a favourite Zeppelin album, all are flawed in one way or another, but older is better.

Metallica's 'Breadfan' was originally written and recorded by Budgie, a Welsh band of the 70s.

i used to have the essential lex tape of songs i just gotta have. i know the beatles, mj, bonnie raitt, steely dan, michael franks, etc. are on that tape. but that was years ago...my essentials this year is waaaay different. i have grown so much since i have been on this board.

for one thing, i will surely have "meant to be" and evening at lafitte's" by squirrel nut zippers in my new essential.

also sly fox's "lets go all the way" is good and fun.


lots of live songs like "overcome" "pillar of davidson", "turn my head", and "lakini's juice" well, all of throwing copper, and "i wanna dance with you" and all of from distance to here.

all of david gray's and most of coldplay's

norah jones' "one flight down" i gotts to have!

"islands" by king crimson bec i just love that whole album.

how can one not have the beatle's white album. but that is not obscure. so scratch that.

i have more, but those are off top of my head. i know i am missing something, but i will post as i think of them.

 

songs in the key of life by stevie wonder. this is a 2 album deal. i highly recommend this one.
