    Yeah, that would work... except for that whole "thou shalt not murder" thing.

    Tragically, there have been incidents where people have adopted that mindset to "save" children.

    Nobody should be comfortable with the genocide of the promised land. Nobody. Even Israel didn't have the stomach to see it through to completion (ultimately it led to the corruption of their society and a falling away from their faith).

    Another thing to remember is that the Canaanites, et al, were not even close to being a peace-loving, innocent society. Among other things, they sacrificed their children to their gods.

    That's an interesting take on it; you're probably the first Christian I've heard even address the issue straight on. Bravo for you. Chapter/verse please? For reference purposes.
