...but you do actually have to hold teams that are good to less points than we're used to giving up. Don't get me wrong, D has played great, but Detroit's O sucked. Baltimore's O sucked. We knew that coming in. If we can shut down a legit player, then I'll consider our defense to be legit top ten.

If the Falcons take 2 of their next 3 games (Bengal, Bucs, and Giants) and we'll go into their house having won the next 2 of 4 (Vikings, Packers, Cardinals, Cowboys), we would be sitting on a 2 game advantage with them LIKELY coming off a loss to the Giants in New York. I'm not taking them lightly but I like our chances none-the-less. If we pull out a win against either the Vikings or Packers...well, let us just say we really need too to get respect.

Here a couple more interesting statistics:

"Since the NFL adopted a 16-game schedule in 1978, just 17 of 176 teams that began a season 0-2 recovered to qualify for postseason play. --ESPN"

    and

Michael Vick is now 0-4 as a starter in the league.

who ya looking for respect from? media and other teams won't give us any respect unless we're 8-0. not with Peete at QB. they'll continue to laugh at us. like Mags, they'll discount every opponent we beat and be unwilling to give up any love. even if we should get to the playoffs, Mags will continue to attribute it all to smoke and mirrors and will still be saying we won't be able to continue to do it against the better teams in the playoffs. our defense fucking rocks, Mag, and it is only gonna get better (barring major injuries). me thinks it is time to get on board.

Wonder what it is for 0-3. Although I want the Rams to win next week - at Tampa Bay is not the place to go looking for victory #1.

BTW: Vick is doing everything he can to win, they just have NO defense at all. Vick has 0 interception right now and is basically the best running QB in the league. He is really good.

Must say this though, Brian Urlacher was absolutely unbelievable in that game yesterday. If he isn't the fastest and most agile LB in the last 10 years I don't know who is. He is so impressive.

Agreed that Urlacher is a beast. I mean, the guy used to return kicks in college for cryin' out loud! But I firmly believe that Morgan will give him a run for his money within a year.

All that considered, the Bucs could be staring at a last place finish in the division.

The Vikings have allowed a league worst 725 passing yards in two games. The Panthers have allowed the third least with 261.

The Vikings are only behind Pittsburgh in the giveaway column turning the ball over 6 times going into this Sunday's game with a net difference of 8 behind the Panthers.

Randy Moss (9.9 avg) has only 25 more (receiving) yards than Muhammed (14.4 avg) and has had to do it on the strength of 7 more receptions.

When Fox last faced the Vikings, his defense shut them out 44-0 (I think). When the Panthers last faced the Vikings in the Metrodome, they won their only game of the season with Moss not registering his first catch until the 4th quarter.

Culpepper has been sacked 6 times compaired to Peete's 2. The Panthers have a combine 8 sacks compaired to the Viking's 4.

    This game is winnable.

    Some stuff to consider:

Detroit's the only team in the league to not record a sack. Baltimore has three total. Neither ahve a pick. Minnesota has one. Detroit and Baltimore are OK versus the run, 3.3 and 3.6 per. Minnesota leads the league with 2.8.

They do suck versus the pass, yes, 2 sack per game and probably won't get 2 versus us. One pick.

Wow. Pittsburgh's been passed against almost 110 times already. And they're giving up 66.7%
