This is somewhat interesting to view. C-USA thinks they are a football conference. Look at what the programs at the top are now spending, attendance and relative success compared to the schools they are likely to add. (Marshall's board of trustees has also approved their movement to C-USA today from the MAC if invited.)

I also note, this shows how expensive a football program would cost to run as well.

East Carolina - $5.1 million spent, 29,629 average attendance, 2001 last bowl game

Louisville - $10.6 million spent, 36,473 average attendance, 2002 last bowl game

Cincinnati - $5.8 million spent, 28,071 average attendance, 2002 last bowl game

South Florida - $3.7 million spent, 26,304 average attendance, no bowl games

Rice - $5.6 million spent, 20,069 average attendance, 1961 last bowl game

Southern Methodist - $5.9 million spent, 18,292 average attendance, 1984 last bowl game

Tulsa - $3.9 million spent, 18,986 average attendance, 1991 last bowl game

Good post, High Point. If Cincy REALLY wants to be as serious about football as they claim they are, they really need to up the ante. Minter's assistants are constantly bailing. Unclear if it's money or they just don't like him, but I think a combination of the two.

Being in Florida has its advantages. USF gets a great ROI.

They're making money for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if not for themselves, four home games have made $357,000 net profit for the Bucs. Bucs Profit From USF's Success
