We've benched Nesbit, we've benched Grant, we've benched Weinke (and unofficially, Peete I imagine). What about Steve Smith? He's screwed us out of posessions, touchdowns, completions, and a few dabs of Flexall we could have used elsewhere. So where's his benching? Chris Terry's?

That's a good point, Magnus. As it stands, if Black or Hankton could contribute in any way on offense, I bet he would be benched, and deservedly so.

I've got everything crossed I can possibly cross, hoping they put Gilbert on IR and get Jackson signed by the end of the day. If that happens, WJ has got two weeks to learn a few routes, and could bump Smith against NO.

Call it wishful thinking, 'cause at this point that's all it is.

We're not going to be losing that much with Byrd in there. Smith would still play.

Only thing lost is speed but what good is that speed doing with the way Smith has been dancing instead of running.

Can Rod Smart field punts and kickoffs?
