Someone might want to start a poll as to whether or not a preseason win is all that important for this team. I think its going to make our fans look pretty insecure if we make winning one lousy preseason game a big deal. As long as our staff can evaluate new players and our final 53 end up getting enough experience to be ready for REGULAR season we do not need preseason Ws IMO. It’s not a “fact” that we need a preseason win to get people excited about the Panthers this year. I’m sensing a LOT of excitement already!
Clearly your first team units need to execute and improve throughout preseason and evaluating depth charts for each position is key. Why should anyone care what the final score turns out to be? It really doesn’t matter beyond your starters vs their starters. Maybe you can CLAIM that your backups are “better” than another teams backups with a win but it’s a very subjective point.
I just hope our rooks and new guys are ready for the Ravens in three weeks and our key starters and backups stay healthy . . . that’s what’s important.

agreed. I want to see some people grow into roles, and I want to see some people win jobs. I'd like to see us do good things as a team and try to put together a good showing of what we're about without having to scheme a personality into the team.

The end score doesn't matter a damn to me and if anyone thinks I shed a tear when that fat boy scooped up Watkins' pass they'd be wrong. Hell, that's the perfect way to lose a preseason game...the only worry was that we let them back in the game in the first place.
