Huh? None of those 3 are consistently in the Top 20 or 25 for that matter.

Since 1999 TCU has 2 Top 25 finishes, SM has 1 and Louisville has one. That's a far cry from every year and even further from Top 20 every year. If you go by finishing in the top 30 Louisville only gets one more, SM still only 1 and TCU gets one more to pull it to 3.

While DaveW is reviewing this thread why don't you review your stats.

    metrosucks, welcome back.

I didn't say they finish in the top 25 EVERY year. I stated that they are top 25 teams, meaning they get at least a top 25 ranking during the season. Southern miss, UL, and TCU get in the top 25 almost every year. My point is that the addition of UL would help the Big East retain BCS status.

I thought you were a CUSA advocate?

They will have a lot more potential in a BCS conference. More cash flow.

Big East takes Louisville and Central Florida (why I don’t know, but that is the plan), and should retain their BCS status until the current contract is up. After that point, I seriously doubt it.

You're right you didn't say top 25, you said Top 20. Top 25 was nowhere in your post.

Your point is still dumb. a brief stint in the top 25 ended by not finishing even in the top 30 most years is not exactly something to hang your hat on. Louisville brings an average football team with a big atheletic budget and a high profile basketball team. The attractiveness of of them is their budget and noteriety, not their football. TCU is by far the most consistent team in CUSA.

I am a cusa advocate. I pull for this conference above any other, but that doesn't mean I'm blinded to the fact that our football is mediocre at best and those teams are nowhere near Top 20 every year as you asserted.

Aren't you the one that believes in speaking truth and not being rah, rah?

Louisville is the only one of those with a shot at a BCS conference, and even then, as Nova said, I doubt the BE retains it's BCS status minus Va Tech and Miami.

    since you are feeling frisky.....

so you just admitted I was right with DaveW that UL would allow the BE to stay BCS.

Say what you want about after their contract runnig up with BCS, but I say the BCS will be blown apart and a playoff system will be in tact, just like 1AA's, in 2005. every div1 team will be eligible to win the natl title, not just 60 teams.

I don't think that any of the conferences that are currently in the BCS could be dropped, and none added - until the current agreement expires - which is after the 04-05 season. Isn't that convienient. So the way the 2 stage thing would play out is that Miami and VT come to the ACC and the BE is still a BCS team until the renogatiation - at which point they cannot offer any top 10 teams. They will be dropped from the BCS, then the ACC knocks on Cuse's door and says that - hey - since you can't be a BCS team and we need a 12th to have a conf. champ. game - why don;t you come on down?

What the hell are you talking about?

I did not say you were right. I didn't say UL would allow the BE to stay BCS, I said Louisville was the only one with a shot at a BCS conference, and even with them, the BE would lose BCS membership without VaTech and Miami.

Man, you're so desperate to be right you'll make it up as you go along.
