Honestly, PITT has dedicated a shitpile of money to its football program recently (facilities & recruiting) and there is no fucking way they would go to a conference outside the BCS. I just don't see it happening. Hell, I don't even want to see them go to the BIG10, they have set up the wrong type of team to compete in that league. I have a hard time believing WVU would do it either. The only way I see this shaking out is if the BE adds some schools with football and possibly sheds a couple bball only schools. Or, along those same lines, remaining BE football schools form a new conf. addind a few other schools and let the bball schools catch on elsewhere.

I would love it though if I didn't have to go to BC, Syracuse, ND, and Miami anymore for football games, CUSA would offer a lot less travelling for me.

I don't see how they can make a claim to keep their bcs status with their 2 best football programs gone. When was the last time any of the remaining schools had a football team ranked in the top 10? Syracuse maybe? WVU with Major Harris?

vp, keep in mind Tranguese is the commish of the Big East and the BCS! I think if they add a top 25 program like Louisville and one other decent team (Cincinatti was a bowl team last year) then they keep BCS standing. Anyway, I think the end game is starting now that it is apparent what the ACC is gonna do.

I do not think it is apparent that the ACC is through. I can not see a 11 team conference. I have thought all along that the only way the ACC can do what they originally set out to do (add 3 teams) is to do it in a two step process. It rocks the boat less (dismantling BE ) and now everyone else will start the team grab so when the ACC comes back next year for Syracuse or Notre Dame lawsuits can not be filed because the BE has stolen from other conferences to restock what the ACC has taken. How can you sue another conference if you have just done the same thing.

They'll add Marshall before adding any of those schools.

have you read any of this thread? Louisville is a top 20 team every year in football. so is Southern Miss, and TCU for that matter. But only UL or Cincy makes sense for the Big East. I agree with you Savio that Marshall gets a look, but not over UL. ;)
