What do expect from the Panthers this offseason? How would you proceed?

Cam plays on the final year of the deal. He’s open to it, he doesn’t have a whole lot of leverage, and the team should be thrilled with that scenario.

That would make for a pretty dynamic group of skill players, and would give a rookie OC and advantage in terms of learning curve.

I think they need another hammer back, but relatively cheap. Mike Davis makes sense, and he’s on the roster. Brady will use two backs. It’s going to happen. He will also be more creative in terms of deploying McCaffrey.

I think they should consider giving this o line another try, and hope Little doesn’t get any more concussions. Hopefully, Moton gets a deal worked out. I think 61 will be better, with another year of recovery under his belt. Turner wasn’t great last year, but I wouldn’t trade him.

I’m not sold on Ian Thomas. They’ll need to address that at some point. But let’s face it: Greg’s production has been spiraling for a while.

I’ve been doing a lot of research on Phil Snow. He says he runs multiple stuff, but his favorite is 43 under. Patriots run a lot of that. So do the Seahawks. You need a Will linebacker who can travel and occasionally fill gaps. Shaq is that guy. They need a nose tackle desperately. I like Hargrave from Pittsburgh. Okudah would be a great pick. Snow plays a ton of cover one and you’re gonna need at least one corner who can man up and shut down. Jeff can do that. I think Eric Reid has a decent chance to succeed in the scheme, as long as they keep them away from covering tight ends up the seam. You need an FS who can travel, and Boston seems to be able to do that, his weaknesses is angles.

I think this can look a lot like the 1999 Panthers. I think the defense will have a hard time at first, but if cam is healthy, I really think they can do some damage on offense. They put up 35 points before half in 2018. Hung 37 on Baltimore that year. Three straight touchdowns in the fourth quarter to beat Philly on the road. A lot of the veterans are kind of moving on. Bruce Irvin will leave, and I hate that. McCoy will leave, but I don’t care because his contributions were minimal. Luke, that one sucks, but you never know. Maybe he comes back.

Nobody trades away their franchise quarterback at 30. And the folks that want to trade CMC away? Take a look at what New Orleans is doing. Continuing to build around the 42-year-old quarterback, without any speculation of Kamara trades.

Like the Bull, I believe Cam plays out his contract in a "prove-it" sort of season. If he stays healthy he's going to look amazing in the Brady system, which will likely include a lot of designed QB runs. I'm not as concerned about the O-Line as most, I think that between Little and Daley we will hold down the left side of the line, so it all hinges on Paradis. Still, I think we're going to score a lot of points, but again will suck at the goal line unless Cam is absolutely healthy. I bet we draft a Center on the second day. Moore is going to put that "not a #1 receiver" statement in his locker and ball out. Samuel will continue to flash potential and disappoint, and CMC will have more yards receiving than rushing. We won't have a TE that makes much of an impact, which we're kind of used to right now.

The defense is going to be awful. Short will be good, I imagine, but he's the only DT on the roster right now (Poe's getting cut). Burns will be good on passing downs, but who else will be there? Efe Obada? Christian Miller? It's weird to imagine that a Carolina Panthers team has just one good LB and a bunch of JAGs, but here we are. I have no idea what they do at CB, except that they don't offer Bradberry anything close to what he wants, and he leaves in FA. Jackson is going to get torched by the top receivers in the South if he's asked to cover them one on one. Bottom line is, we're going to depend on rookies and old FAs and it's not going to be good. It think we draft heavy on that side of the ball and accept that they're going to suck in 2020, which should get us into draft territory where we can go after our next franchise QB. If

I think we're in for some entertaining football though, with shades of 2001, where half our losses were one score games. Cam will look good, and if we are in Lawrence/Fields territory as far as the 2021 draft goes, we'll tag and trade him. If we end up in the middle of the first round, we keep him around for a few more years and build a good defense, and see if he can take us for one last wild ride. And of course, if he gets hurt we start looking forward to Trevor in 2021.
