So, now that it's pretty much a done deal...

(it's on espn's homepage), we'll play two games that the heels fans love to play. The "if" game, and the excuse game.

IF carolina doesn't make the tourney next year, or finishes 6th or something in the acc, what will your excuses be?

By the way, let me congratulate you guys. Williams is class (maybe one day you carolina bitches can swallow your pride and say the same about K) and the thought of K and williams going head to head twice a year is great not only for the acc, but for college basketball. Not to mention gary williams and roy. Only thing is, roy has twice the pressure he had at kansas, not only do the heels fans expect at least 3rd in conference every year, they always want a championship and roy is the newest choke artist in the acc.

I just don't see it happening. Doherty would have gotten this team in to the NCAA next year with the talent coming back. Not a tremendous amount of depth and as we saw this year an injury to a key position can mess everything up.

It will be interesting to see what the players do the first time Roy breaks bad on them. You know he is going to make sure they understand whos in charge. It will also be interesting to see what he does with assistants. Will he bring Robinson and others with him? Does Ford end up back on the bench like all the rumors say?

Maybe Williams can bring Padgett with him too.

Expect to see a mega recruiting class soon in Chapel Hill - you know Roy is going to go all out to land the big boys.

Of course the monkey on Roys back just turned into a 2000 pound gorilla and its going to keep getting bigger every year he doesn't win the big one and will really get huge when Bill Self takes his Jayhawks leftovers and wins one before he does.

that I'll agree with 100%... UNC has been missing SOMETHING in its recent UNC/Duke games... I have a feeling this will be what fills that void

Padgett has already committed... so if he decided to follow WIlliams he'll have to redshirt a year... possible it happens considering UNC was #2 on his list anyways... but doubtful

If you had ever read any of my post I have had high praise or Duke and Coach K. Funny part that fans of BOTH teams fail to realize is that both schools are similiar in that do things the right way. Meaning graduate players and run clean programs. I will be the first to say that Brodour needs to get the axe for the way he handled the recent firing. It was an embarrassment to the way Carolina has handled things pre Brodour IMO

Doesn't that go away if Kansas releases him from his letter?

Yes, but why would/should they release Padgett? Bad press yes, but they're under no obligation to do so under NCAA rules. If he decides not to attend Kansas he can still play four years but must sit out next season.

Note: Eddie Basden at Charlotte originally signed with Massachusetts but was given a release when head coach Bruiser Flint resigned. UMass did the correct thing after he asked to be let go.

hey, i never had any beef with deano mainly because i wasn't really around for the 4 corners years. Doh on the other hand was a jackass and that ultimately lead to him being fired. I think if two coaches are gonna be labeled as similar, roy will and k are probably the best to put in that category. Soft spoken, yet pretty vocal when things aren't going very well.

I won't have to make excuses for next year cuz we will be in the NCAA tournament. I would bet the farm on it.
