    .....and here's who I'ma cuttin:

    Willig
    Weinke
    Richardson
    Armstead
    Mangum

I draft Heath Miller (assuming I run the offense) to replace Mangum.

I let Rutherford battle Peete for #2.

I am assuming these cuts would save us SOME coin?

I'd personally escort them to the door if that's what it took.

I will also add Todd Sauerbrun to that list, along with Mike Gaines.

    Mags,

How much of a savings is there in releasing Rucker? I have a feeling that his salary exceeds his 2004 production.

    Carolina Heath Miller, TE, Virginia
-Carolina doesn’t use the TE a lot, but good coaches find ways to utilize their best players. Miller is a very good talent at TE, and with Muhammad a likely cap casualty, they need an intermediate receiver to go with Smith and Colbert.

This is the Footballsfuture.com mock draft. I don't like the pick myself. Mangum is, imho, a very underated TE, and I saw a lot of growth with Seidman last year. Both could be more of a weapon in our offense if we only used them.

I don't know if I would cut Mangum if we are overhauling our line hes not pricey and IMO hes fairly consistant. No hes not a top ten or even close but for the style when run he is effective. but thats just my :twocents:

Net savings of very, very little. Unless he's due a big roster bonus. Based on the bonus he got to sign, and his renegotiations, yeah, it's not only not worth it, it's worth not doing it.

Plus, while people want to give up on him after one 4 sack season, he did have 23 QB pressures.

Why would we cut Gaines? As a 7th rounder, he's dirt cheap, and he's got the physical tools.
