I watched SNL this past saturday because Sarah Palin was on, and I thought that the show has gone WAY downhill. Any thoughts?

They're a little more hit & miss these days, but their hits are as good as ever. Their Palin sketches in the past have been hilarious and gotten great reviews.

Didn't see this past Saturday, however.

i agree that fey makes a great palin, and their palin skits are genuinely funny. But as a whole the show was terrible......i like the palin rap that they did on the weekend update, but other than that i didn't see any real good skits.

Tina Fey is a very talented lady, for sure.

I agree, can't put my finger on it because there are some very talented people on SNL. It must be the way the skits are produced. They seem to lack timing and set ups because the peaks/punchlines fall flat.

Agreed. I guess alot kinda depends who's doing the sketch.

Tina is getting alot of props lately but her shit was kinda whack when she first started out. And when Palin became the running mate it was like a gift from god for her. Amy Poehler is much better IMO.

Most of the stuff Andy Samberg does has me in stitches. The guy that does Tim Calhoun can be very hit and miss with his skits but he grows on you like Norm McDonald did. But the chick that does the Walmart lady gets on my tits.

I like the News stuff, especially when they do the "Oh Really" segment.

But ive always found the cartoons retarded.

I always thought that the ambiguously gay duo was funny but other than that yeah they suck pretty bad.

Save for the Palin skits and the weekend updates, this season has been one of the worst ever.

The Tim Calhoun/McGruber guy must write his own skits or something, because everything he is featured in is horrible.

There has been one skit that made me laugh:

I agree, anything by Robert Smigel is hilarious. I stopped watching SNL around the turn of the century because it had gotten so bad. Now it seems like the only thing that gets attention are those bad raps by the big-nosed guy trying desperately to be the next Adam Sandler. Dick in a box was admittedly awesome, though.

Smigel is a genius...TV Funhouse was awesome as a stand-alone.

SNL is awful. The new head writer wasn't a guy I liked as a regular.
