he got rocked at the marlins to start the season and then gave up a 2 run tater in the 7th at home vs. the mets on sunday. in that game he had a bunch of K's before the shot that sent him to the shower. he has given up some long balls already this season. maybe by me posting this it will turn things around for him. johnny smoke :woohoo:

I think it'll take him a few starts before he is readjusted to starting pitching. The Braves bats will need to show up on days he pitches because for a while he's gonna give up a few runs.

I'd say 15 Ks and 2 earned runs in almost 8 innings is excellent. Too bad Pedro was the opposing pitcher. Scoring 1 run isn't going to beat too many teams, no matter how well the Braves pitch.

That was a dominating performance by both guys, Smoltz just threw a slider that didn't break, and Beltran smoked it. There's a reason Beltran got paid a ton of money and hits 3rd.

Smoltz is now 0-3,although he has pitched excellent his last two outings. The Braves just need to score him some runs.

Their bats were going to be the biggest question mark imo this year.
