A boy looks like his dad. His dad abuses his wife...gives her a black eye once a week. Son is not of strong will and grows up to abuse his girlfriends and wives, his sons follow in his path.....Some people break the mold, some just don't.

 

But it still not an automatic. An upstanding father can just as easily raise a boy who becomes a mass murderer. Even taking predispositions into consideration, it still boils down to individual choice.

 

Mass murdering is typically a chemical imbalance in the brain. Same with serial murder, serial raping, etc. Then you get people like the Bitch of Berson (i know i'm not spelling that right) that are so sadistic that they enjoy wearing human skin as a coat, providing the tattooes look good.

 

Granted, but we're getting off track here. The argument you made (if I understood you correctly) was that if man was supposedly made in God's image, then God must 'look' like man, and more specifically man's worst traits must be present in God. Have I misunderstood you?

If not, my rebuttal is that just because B began looking like A, it doesn't necessarily mean that A is identical to B, nor does A have the all the same characteristics as B.

In other words, the phrase "in the image of" doesn't mean "is exactly like".

Hey, not just alcohol. How come "gossip" gets off. How come "jealousy" gets off. Because you can SEE someone smoke and maybe you can't see these other sins. They are all sin, they can all be forgiven. You just have to keep trying to fight them, best you can.
