It is all in how you define yourself. Are you a smoker or not?

I have not had a cigarette in over 7 years. I am not a smoker. If I were to ever have a cigarette again, I would be a smoker. If someone asked how long I had quit I would get to say, "1 day". 7 years sounds a whole lot better to me.

Make the decision to not be a smoker. Know that every time you give in, no matter how long you lasted, you will be a smoker again and have to start from scratch.

First couple of weeks are the toughest so avoid situations in which you normally smoked if at all possible.

LAst, and perhaps most important, quit hanging out with those loser 49ers.

You are right, it is a state of mind thing...right now i hate to think i can never have another smoke again, that makes me want to smoke.

the car is the hard place, i smoke in the car but not inside the house.

LOL, most of them don't smoke.

Well my dad quit years ago cold turkey. The one thing he did, was his last pack he smoked was to put the ashes and cig butts into a glass container, added water then sealed it.

Everytime he had the urge, he would open the container and take a small whiff. Needless to say that only took a few times and he didn't need it again. Try to imagine what you are doing inside your body is far worse than that mess.

Sure, but do you really notice the extra pound a 300 lb person puts on?

Worth a try, a visual reminder never hurts, plus the smell is even worse.
