    Smith took another jab at Fox on Tuesday, saying the former coach once said, “it’s not the plays, it’s the players” contributing to the offensive problems.

    “Some of these players that are sticking around look pretty darned good,” Smith said. “And the new players that are coming in with the draft coming up … I think we have some very creative plays that those players –no matter how old they are –look extremely well.”

    I have to give credit to Rivera for handlin' his bidness with Smitty. Props also to Chud. Newton is a big factor. Biggest factor is probably his weird relationship with JR.

    Weird but good. Glad he will finish his career a Panther and I do think he will have a statue in the Hall of Honor.

    Just watched the whole press conference. Very entertaining and fun to watch. Steve is in a good place in his life right now.

    $10 million signing bonus
    $3 million option bonus in 2014

    2012 - $1 million salary (Cap Number - $5.963 million)
    2013 - $3.75 million salary is fully guaranteed (CN - $5.75 million)
    2014 - $4 million salary ($3 million is gtd if option is not exercised, CN - $7 million)
    2015 - $7 million salary (CN - $10 million)
    2016 - $9 million salary (If option is exercised, CN - $12 million)

    No way the Panthers excercise that option.... I don't see them taking a $10 Million cap hit on a 36 year old WR.
