Thanks mags i think you're right... it'd just been quite a while since I had heard anything and I thought this was a Young back up guy we had previously had and he went elsewhere and got good... sorry we all make our stupid mistakes

So has anyone heard if we are making a serious run at getting Smith and do you guys really think this will be much of an upgrade from Huntley?

 

Honestly I hope its a rumor... I see no need to pick up a FA RB this year... we need to get one in the draft or wait until next year... give Huntley the ball and a chance... he's in a contract year... plus he needs the chance to prove what he can do... I have no problem drafting a 2nd or 3rd guy and have him learn his first year while Huntley gets the majority of the carries... no one expects us to win a Superbowl this coming year... it needs to be one of those adding pieces to the puzzle years... get what you need but don't waste money where its not needed.

The same guy that reported this on the charlotte.com board just cited his source as a kffl.com mock draft. Sounds like it was one a couple of guys did on a discussion board. Anyway, it wasn't espn news and sure as hell doesn't sound too credible.
