    49ers | Skipper A Candidate? - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
7:48 PT: The Charlotte Observer reports Carolina Panthers running backs coach Jim Skipper could emerge as a candidate for the San Francisco 49ers head coach. His name came up as a possible candidate earlier this week, according to league sources. The 49ers could ask the Panthers for permission to interview Skipper in the next few days.

I can't friggin' believe this. :saywhat: You'd think we won the stinkin' Super Bowl. Man alive, we'll never crawl out of this friggin' hole if we keep getting scavenged like this!

(on the optimistic side, I guess it's quite a statement to the staff that Fox put together in his first season as a head coach...)

Now I know how Pittsbugh feels every year. I think they lose more coaches to promotions than any other team.

The 49ers end up hiring Denny Green or if you believe some of the wildest rumours Bill Walsh returns for a year while they wait on Holmgren to get out of his contract at Seattle.

San Fransisco being the quota capital of the world just about any African American coach will be interviewed just to keep Johnny Cochran off their ass.

    Skipper to the Niners

Let me get this straight....he gets turned down by Sacramento St. and Terry Wanless because he can't recruit. But, Walsh and the Niners want him in the City for the Niners post?

    Absolutely, No way!

    No, Walsh isn't coming back.

49ers | Walsh Again Says No Way - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
7:44 PT: The Mercury News reports former coach Bill Walsh once again denied he is interested in returning to the sidelines as the San Francisco 49ers head coach. "God, no!" Walsh said Friday as he weaved through Bay Area traffic. "Well, if they paid me enough. What would it take? $10 million." He quickly added that he was kidding, that even the sweetest deal possible would not drag him back. Walsh said he had once great offer to coach last season and he turned it down. He did not name the opportunity. Despite widespread assumptions to the contrary, Walsh insists that he was in no way responsible for influencing the decision to fire coach Steve Mariucci last week. Walsh said he and Mariucci had lunch Thursday and successfully ironed out any misunderstandings between them.
