I was at the concert recorded in Houston in 1981 that you see all over the youtubes.

I was also front row center at the 1981 stones houston concert start me up tour you see all over youtubes.

Both were very good shows and very memorable, despite the greenery preview.

    You da man, Coach.

I really wish I could have been born 20 years earlier. Or 200 years from now. I'm good with either.

    Bob Marley - Redemption Song

    Bob Marley - Redemption Song

Old pirates yes they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I from the
    Bottom less pit
But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the almighty
We forward in this generation triumphantly
All I ever had is songs of freedom
Won't you help to sing these songs of freedom
'Cause all I ever had redemption songs, redemption songs

    Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
Have no fear for atomic energy
'Cause none of them can stop the time
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look
Some say it's just a part of it
We've got to fulfill the book

Won't you help to sing, these songs of freedom
'Cause all I ever had, redemption songs, redemption songs, redemption songs

    Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
Have no fear for atomic energy
'Cause none of them can stop the time
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look
Yes some say it's just part of it
We've got to fulfill the book

Won't you help to sing, these songs of freedom
'Cause all I ever had, redemption songs
All I ever had, redemption songs
These songs of freedom, songs of freedom

Atmospheric wave interpretations. That is some good and interesting shit. I could work with you on that. Do you see?

The country is not as lost as it seems right now. We just need to step away from the keyboard and talk to local people.

    Don't let Trump divide us.

Jimi Hendrix - Third Stone From the Sun

What you expect, is not all represented here. It is what it is.

Star fleet to scout ship, please give your position. Over.
I'm in orbit around the third planet from the star called the sun. Over.
You mean it's the Earth? Over.
Positive. It is known to have some form of intelligent species. Over.
I think we should take a look.
    Strange beautiful grass of green,
    With your majestic silver seas
Your mysterious mountains I wish to see closer
May I land my kinky machine?
    {start slowed down}
    Strange beautiful, grass of green
    With your majestic silver seas
Your mysterious mountains I wish to see closer
May I land my kinky machine?
    {end slowed down}
    Although your world wonders me,
With your majestic and superior cackling hen
Your people I do not understand,
So to you I shall put an end
And you'll never hear surf music again
    {start slowed down...rough guess at lyrics}
    Secret
    Oh, secret
    Oh
    Shhhh...
    {end slowed down}

The Greatest Album of All Time is Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue". 80% of that album is improvised. Miles showed up with notes, Coltrane just happened to be light on the heroin at that moment, and magic happened.

This is a reproduction for the TV cameras:

I watch this old video and I am reminded of current events. John Coltrane is so much like Jon Jones, from the UFC. An unorthodox fighter who pretends his demons of drugs and fake bullshit don't exist. On the other hand, an extremely creative upstart who re-writes the fundamentals.

Mozart and Beethoven would have hated each other. Just like Davis and Coltrane hated each other. But they needed each other, in the same way Jagger/Richards and McCarthy/Lennon needed each other.

"If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all."

Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn - Born Under a Bad Sign

Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn - Born Under a Bad Sign

I worked at the Sound Warehouse on Lamar street in Austin, TX the day Stevie Ray Vaughn died. All day, people came in with black armbands to buy his CDs.

    One, two
    Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all

Hard luck and trouble is my only friend
I been on my own ever since I was ten
    Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all

I can't read, haven't learned how to write
My whole life has been one big fight
    Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all

    I ain't lyin'
If it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have no kind-a luck
If it wasn't for real bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all

Wine and women is all I crave
A big legged woman is gonna carry me to my grave
    Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all

    Yeah, my bad luck boy
Been havin' bad luck all of my days, yes

World Party - Way Down Now

World Party - Way Down Now

    Inside my TV I
Never stop to wonder why I'm
    Way down now
    I'm way down now
Some faceless get on the screen
The most honest man I've ever seen
    I'm way down now
    I'm way down now

Won't you show me something true today
C'mon and show me anything but this

She took us by the hand
Hell was the promised land I'm
    Way down now
    I'm way down now
    I'm lying by the road
Because she cut off all my clothes
    I'm way down now
    Way down now

Won't you show me something true today
C'mon and show me anything but this

    Inside my future I
What I see just makes me cry
    I'm way down now
    I'm way down now
The clocks will all run backwards
All the sheep will have two heads
    And Thursday night and Friday
Will be on Tuesday night instead
And all the times will keep on changing
    And the movement will increase
There's something about the living, babe
That sends me off my feet
    There's breeding in the sewers
And the rats are on their way
They're clouding up the images of my perfect day
And I know I'm not alone
And I know I'm not alone
And I know I'm not alone

    Anything but this
Do you hear me I said

    Inside my TV I
    Never stop to wonder why
    I'm way down now
    I'm way down now
Then some faceless get comes on my screen
The most honest man I've ever seen
    I'm way down now
    I'm way down now

    Something new
    Something true
    Something new
    Something true
