Which Panther QB is a little less spastic than PJ, for $200?

His first play was a decent option but it didn't count because of a penalty. Then he rolls out and almost turns the ball over on a questionable throw after the play was blown up. Then he gets a delay of game, which admittedly was kind of BS because the Refs mismanaged the clock. ChubHub ran it in on the next play, and all Walker did after that was hand the ball off on two three-and-out drives.

It was in his initial few plays that he looked awful, but he never looked like he could move the ball. He didn't need to anyway, because once we went up by nine with 6:30 left to play, Rhule pulled out his John Fox playbook and told Snow to win it for him. Basically, we would have won the game just the same if we lined up with Barry under center--outside of his near-turnover, PJ had that little impact on the outcome.

Fair enough. You made it sound like he threw five interceptions, though.

If his few pass plays were held as an example, he might of if he played the whole game.

We wisely didn't give him the chance to. He just looked lost out there, like a rookie in his first game.

He was fun to watch last year, but I am ready to see what we have in Joe Morgan now.

I realize people are trying to corner me in as a P.J. Walker apologist, but it's very difficult for backup quarterbacks to come off the bench and operate an offense smoothly, especially an offense that's been dysfunctional for a month.

Plus, Darnold - as the starter who gets all the reps during the week - has taken multiple delay penalties and even called back to back timeouts.

I really don't see anyone with any desire to corner you into anything.
You seemed to have went to the corner very well without too much help.
There are always reasons that backups are... backups.
The coaching staff, for what they're worth, get to see Walker a lot more than us mere mortals.
If he was doing anything extraordinary in practice then he'd probably be given more opportunity.
We all know every coaching staff has an ego issue and will refuse to admit when they have fucked up or even when the GM has fucked up.
Does Darnold have Jets PTSD? Maybe.
Has he digressed or are opponents seeing the Panther weaknesses?
The Panthers are leading the league in dropped passes. Who knows when CMC will be up to par.
The OL is still horrible and Chuba still has Roberto Duran hands.
Is Walker going to make a difference in those things?
I saw Darnold make some great throws before leaving the Atlanta game. In fact they were some of the best passes I've seen from him all season.
Lets all hope that Walker will start to gel with more first team reps.
That Chuba can mutitask by holding onto the ball while trying to see an OL opening.
That the receivers can remember why they're getting a paycheck and also them throwing blocks downfield is a positive.

Pj needs to develop we know there'd be bumps etc. Ctrl-F any Darnold excuse you'd like.

This assumes a rational competent coaching group. I've come to the conclusion there are very few of these in the nfl.
