what you're not getting is a lot of these guys are 4 star. These aren't junk announcements. You're mistaking it with all the 1 star guys signing with State and Duke.

Bowers does not look like your prototypical defensive end prospect. He is tall, and while on paper he is undersized bulk wise, he seems to have good girth on film. He will need to add some bulk in college, but this is not your typical 265-pound kid. First off, he is quick off the ball. He has the ability to get off on the snap and quickly get penetration. While he is physical at the point of attack and flashes the ability to hold his ground, he is mainly a one-gap penetrating tackle. He has the tools to be a disruptive presence. His natural skills coupled with his motor make him a tough player to deal with. He flashes some good things technique-wise, but mainly it seems he is just out there playing right now. He runs well for a big man and pursues to the ball from sideline to sideline. He has a good closing burst and can be a factor on the perimeter if you run away from him. He can be explosive and will use his hands to try to separate from a defender. He plays a bit tall at times and needs to be more consistent with his hands. His explosiveness makes him a disruptive pass rusher. He can get an upfield charge and flashes the ability to throw a move. Against both the pass and run, if he does not beat his opponent initially he can get stuck, but he keeps moving until he gets free. He relies heavily on the spin move, and while he uses it well, he will need to develop some other ways to disengage from blocks and counter as you don't like your defenders turning their backs to the ball. Bowers is a bit raw, but he is a high-energy, productive defender. He has good ability, and as he grows both physically and as a player, he could be a good one at the college level.

yessir. This is huge. He turned down Florida State, Tennessee, Florida, NC State, Ohio State, and Va Tech. Another HUGE win for UNC. He's 6'7 255. He's Mario Williams size and quickness.

this "hats on the table" or "ties in the pocket" gimmick is getting old.

It won't matter who Clemson gets because as long as Tommy Bowden is the coach there he will find a way to underutilize almost all his talent and perform a massive chokejob by the end of the year. The fact that he hasn't won an ACC title yet, or even a division title with the ACC being so bad and Florida State sucking since the 2000 season (almost a decade ago) speaks volumes to his inability to coach the quality talent he has.
