we will see what kind of player development coach he REALLY is. His quality of players that are coming in, aren't too impressive. But that's what TOB's done most of his career, he always gets the 1-2 * guys.

Some of that came from what he could offer on behalf of BC, some of that comes from the fact that he doesn't necessarily recruit 4-5 star guys. And if he always gets 1-2 star guys, I'd say he's already pretty damn good on player development.

Pretty much owning NC right now, though.

    how?

    per scout.com

UNC is ranked 17th in the country and 2nd in the ACC at a 3.23 average star rating. NC State with an average star rating of 3.00 at 25th in the country. 25 commits for NC State 27th overall, UNC 51st overall with 13 commits. To get quality, you have to wait until signing day. I'm sure if BD wanted to settle for average talent and skill he would be up there with NC State and TOB 2 days before signing day, but that isn't how you get the nations top players, they enjoy the spotlight too much. Actually... the state of NC is having a BAD year recruiting wise. There's very little senior talent. While I'll admit that does provide for future connections he's digging up scraps around NC. I'm not impressed.

As far as his previous talent he took the scraps from Notre Dame's talent pool. There weren't too many legit options up that way outside of ND, Penn St. and BC. He'll have way more difficulty in the south.

He takes players of a certain type that may or may not be 4-5 star players. He seems to be doing pretty well in North Carolina. He has a great history of player development. That's all I'm saying.

NC high school football blows. I'm glad that SC isn't taking what talent is here anymore, but I'm glad UNC is looking elsewhere for talent.

NC State mopping up in state. UNC is getting good prospects but they are still in the running for a number of players. Duke is making some noise under new coach Cutcliffe and Wake is very quiet. Wake is always quiet but Grobe gets players that in a lot of cases are overlooked, then wins with them. It looks like heading into signing day that Miami and Florida Stare are getting top 10 recruiting classes. Football is tough to judge. A lot of the kids never make it anywhere near what their talent may indicate.
